Project Name: The Clinics at Rosalind Franklin University
Project Location: Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science
North Chicago, Illinois
Project Scope: The building itself - originally known as the Earle T. Reynolds House - dates back to 1930 and was designed by noted architect Harrie T. Lindberg. The building measures 39,000 sq. ft., most of which had been converted into active space for clinical care, clinical research and clinical education. The project involved the complete interior demolition and reconstruction of approximately 24,000 sq. ft. of the facility. New mechanical systems and an elevator were introduced to properly update the facility. This project added 26 exam rooms, miscellaneous office and reception areas to the first floor level. The sublevel area was built out to house the new home for the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, which included classrooms, a mock operating room and clinical labs. The G3 Construction Group (G3) was the Construction Manager for the project acting as the "Constructor". G3 performed complete subcontractor bid solicitation/retention, project scheduling/management and accounting functions to support the project.
